Young Windsurfer of the Year 2021 Guy Gibson
Every year, the LWA Committee chooses one of our young sailors who has participated in LWA Events, shown talent, determination and sportsmanship to be awarded in recognition of their windsurfing achievements.
They are presented with a trophy and a cheque for £200 with the intention of encouraging them to further success.

Past winners have included such names as Bryony Shaw, the UK Ladies Windsurfing Bronze Medallist at the Beijing Olympics, Keith Atkinson, winner of many Formula titles both National and International, Dan Simpson, who blazed a trail across the World Formula Youth rankings, Alysia Gibson and Matt Barton - British Sailing Team members.
So there is a great deal to live up to. For 2021 the winner is Guy Gibson who received a cheque for £200 and the trophy. Our congratulations to Guy and we wish him a successful and enjoyable year’s windsurfing in 2022.
